Sometimes a good cup of coffee (or tea,
or hot chocolate, or, you know, whatever) is all it takes
to brighten up your day. I love feeling like a
"real" grown up when I get a chance to buy a
coffee for myself- it's a bit of a treat, and a bit of an
escape, but it doesn't break the bank. I think we all
deserve a little treat in our lives, don't you?
I've designed Java Jumpers
to take the place of the disposable cardboard
"jackets" or "cozies" that you get at
coffee houses. So many times I'm knitting up an item for
someone's child and I just love the colorway, but I can't
think of a way to encorporate it into an adult item. One
day as I indulged in a coffee (err... peppermint latte
actually...) I realized that a knitted cuff would be
perfect for keeping the coffee warm AND keeping my hand
cool. I worked up the pattern and made a bunch of Java
Jumpers for my friends for the holidays, and they
were a huge hit- so much so that I was begged to make
more.
Java Jumpers are
reusable, very portable, and easy to throw in your purse
or pocket when you're all done sipping your drink. They
are designed to fit the standard to-go coffee cups
you'll find at most places (Starbucks, Dunkin'
Donuts, Java City, McDonalds, etc.) If your Java
Jumper gets dirty, just wash it with your next
batch of soakers, or just soak in tepid water with a bit
of baby soap, squeeze out excess water, flatten, tug on
the top and bottom (to keep it nice and tight to the cup),
and dry.
